Equipment for hospitals, doctors’ surgeries and care homes

Health sector

Particularly in professions where you are in close contact with patients or customers, it is important to protect them from infections. You should be able to deal with your patients in a safe and friendly manner despite all the necessary hygiene regulations. This includes properly equipping both staff and spaces in surgeries, hospitals and care homes. Ensure that people can easily find their way around your building and can adhere to distancing regulations, that rubbish separation is clear and tidy and that direct contact is based on trust.

Full hygiene concepts for your surgeries

In addition to providing products for professionally displaying information, we also offer additional products for a full hygiene concept. Equip your surgery with disinfectant dispensers, for example; these are very important and effective in preventing the spread of infection. Besides floor stickers reminding people to “Wear a mask”, you can also use floor marking bands to mark walkways and one-way systems to direct your patients and ensure that distancing regulations can be adhered to.

Nowhere is as affected by the pandemic as hospitals and facilities for vulnerable groups of people such as care patients and senior citizens. Staff in these environments are not called front-line workers for nothing. Every day, nurses, doctors, elderly caregivers and therapists deal with sick people and work hard to restore their health.

In addition to caring for the patients and residents, their own risk of infection is an ever-present worry. Other patients and visitors should also be protected from infection. Smart hygiene concepts and their rules and regulations can help people in these facilities prevent the spread of infection. For example, one-way systems are important for entering and leaving buildings, when admitting patients and in A&E, to ensure that people don’t get too close to one another. Digital visitor management that includes collecting personal data and online appointment booking is on the rise. Nowadays, IDs can be printed quickly and easily at reception allowing other people to see if the person is a member of staff, a patient or a visitor. Technology is also playing an even greater role in preventing the spread of infection.

Reception area

The reception area in doctors’ surgeries, hospitals and other facilities is the first impression patients get. At DURABLE, we have dedicated ourselves to developing functional products to help you in your daily work. Besides literature holders, info-frames and desk accessories, we also offer many other products for equipping your surgery reception area.

Analogue aids are essential

In clinics and healthcare facilities, the staff, patients and visitors should be constantly reminded of the correct decorum on site. There is no place for neglectfulness here. What entrance should visitors use? Which is the queue for patient admission? Where can you disinfect your hands? When can I enter the ward? All these questions and many more cannot be answered digitally; instead they have to be addressed via clear analogue means on site.

DURABLE as an expert partner

As the manufacturer of the info-frame DURAFRAME® – the solution for cleverly displaying behaviour and hygiene rules, patient and visitor notices, signposts and much more – DURABLE is your ideal partner in this area. DURAFRAME® combines cost efficiency and professionalism. The frames are a universal means of communication; changing the inserts is quick and easy and you don’t need any tools to put them into use.

Correct hand-washing and disinfection

The most important hygiene measure is correct hand-washing. In special environments such as hospitals, physiotherapists’ clinics and doctors’ surgeries, patients and staff should be provided with sufficient disinfect and other hygiene items for cleaning their hands. Furthermore, instructions on best hand-washing practice should be clearly visible in all bathrooms and toilets. With the DURAFRAME® “Hand Washing” sign you can display the step-by-step instructions right in the washrooms.

Interior signage in your surgery

Doorplates for treatment rooms

Signs are an essential orientation guide in doctors’ surgeries. That’s why at DURABLE we have a range of various doorplates to make it easy for everyone to locate your rooms. We have it all, from “Waiting Room” and “Washroom” to “Treatment Room” – you’re guaranteed to find what you’re looking for.

And buying the right surgery sign online is easier than you would expect. We always recommend that our customers adjust the signs according to the design of their surgery so as to include their corporate identity.

For example, if you have an acrylic sign outside the building you can use the material again for interior signage. The CRYSTAL SIGN doorplate is ideal in this case. The simple yet high-quality material puts the important information front and centre and emphasises the visual impression. Furthermore, you can always redesign acrylic glass signs with transparent films.

For joint practices, we recommend using different coloured signs. The surgery signs with frames from the CLICK SIGN range are ideal in these cases. The range is available in different sizes and well as different colours. This allows you to differentiate between the dentist’s treatment room and the orthodontist’s treatment room, should these both be in the same dental practice.

The design of exterior surgery signs is precisely regulated by the German Medical Association. The sign must include the name of the doctor, their specialist title and the current opening hours.

DURABLE’s surgery signs are only suitable for interior spaces and can be used for conveying patient information and providing organisational guidance. What does that mean exactly?

Organisational guidance includes information regarding special and normal opening hours as well as ways of contacting the practice out of hours. This information can be displayed on large doorplates and displayed prominently in the reception area. Smaller signs are more suitable for labelling rooms. This allows patients to find their own way to the laboratory or a certain treatment room, which facilitates the organisational processes in the practice.

Factual information is interpreted by the German Medical Association as information regarding special examination and treatment methods.

Yes! Designing your signs in our free labelling software DURAPRINT® couldn’t be easier!

Simply select your product from the list in the online software and upload your print data such as images and text. In this way you can design each doorplate individually or create them all at once. But what should they look like? For some quick inspiration we’ve created a few examples for you.

No mater if you’re making signs for an alternative practitioner, a psychotherapist or a doctor, the usual signs for the waiting room and the toilets are needed everywhere! We recommend: Retain your corporate identity, use the same fonts and recognisable symbols, and of course your logo.

Printing signage with DURAPRINT®

In order to comply with the mandatory hygiene regulations, it’s important to take all precautions for effective protection against infection. All the necessary recommended action templates are saved in the DURAPRINT® software and are available to download. These templates include PDF instructions on “Correct handwashing”, “Keeping distance” and “Hand disinfection”.

Equipment for staff

Employers have a duty of care for their employees. Besides the occupational health and safety regulations, employers must ensure that their companies are safe and hygienic, and also provide their employees with detailed information on the hygiene regulations. Our info-frames for notices, floor stands and many other products can help you do just that.

Name badges in the health care sector

Addressing people directly and personally is necessary for good communication, particularly in the health care sector. Therefore, we offer a large selection of different name badges that can be used for a range of purposes. While name badges are crucial for developing trust and facilitating communication when looking after patients, they can also guarantee safety in the area of nursing. Name badges for doctors are also advantageous so that patients and relatives can identify them.

Pharmacists, doctors’ assistants and nursing staff would require high-quality, long-lasting name badges as they are often in contact with disinfectants. In these cases we recommend aluminium name badges. These are printed using a superior anodic printing process, which makes the name badges solvent and scratch resistant.

Occupational safety

Based on actual understanding, scientists now know that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can be transmitted in the form of aerosols. Aerosols are particularly fine particles containing the virus. These particles are formed naturally as we breathe and talk and can remain in the air for sometime. Therefore, it is of the highest priority in the fight against COVID that surgery rooms are aired regularly; this measure cannot be replaced by any other.

To reduce the spread of the virus via airborne infection, mask wearing is recommended. The mask should cover both the nose and the mouth. A face visor can be worn with a mask and covers the nose, mouth and eyes; it can also be disinfected easily. In some federal states, face visors are permitted as an alternative to masks for certain groups of people. Please find out if this ruling applies in your state by checking your federal state government website.

Face visors that fold upwards can be used as an additional means of protection when dealing directly with customers and colleagues. It creates a barrier that minimises the exchange of spray and droplets therefore making it ideal for use in environments such as doctors’ surgeries, hospitals, care homes and pharmacies.
